J is our new intern; her family owns the tallest bank in Singapore. Had dinner at Lau Pa Sat last Friday. Ordered satays, stingray, bbq chicken wings, the usual. When K turned up with a plate of oyster omelette, we were all smiles - who doesn't love that dish. Suddenly, J asked what is that and so we explained to her, she tried it and was acceptable. Today I was suggesting to J and another intern to try Uncle Sam's, and J gave me the blank look.... It felt strange describing claypot rice to her. To this end, I seriously wonder what has she been eating for the past 18 years. I like her though, she's a SYT and humble girl.
Gewurtztraminer is my latest preferred white. Hubby has not been introduced to it yet so we're having it with Indian food this weekend; it pairs well with curry of any sorts. Something to look forward to.
Last but not least, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Charsiew for her heartwarming peanut soup. It was nice (she was generous with ingredients) and I've requested that she prepares our share the next time ; ) Thanks in advance yah!
